Carlos Costa

I'm Carlos, a 26 year old creative from Barcelona. I love telling stories through films and building consumer internet companies.

I studied Management Science with a scholarship between the UK, Hong Kong and Australia. Whilst at university, I co-founded my first startup - a marketplace for travel accommodation and scaled it to over +20K users in +100 countries.

During this period, I learned the ins & outs of how startups worked: bootstrapping, launching an MVP, getting traction, going through accelerators in Israel & the US,  spending 40 days staying with users in 9 countries, raising venture capital, hiring, firing, rebranding and relentless product iteration.

By the end of the journey, the product had absolutely nothing to do with the original concept and the company's name was Nido.

Having learned a few things, I decided to join OnDeck, where I get to learn and connect with the world's best tech talent community, from startup founders to investors and operators.

Nowadays, I'm working on my 3rd startup, and spend my day to day leading the team at Pulpo.

Whenever I can, I like to share some of my learnings with others, and have recently started angel investing in consumer startups such as Spathios, Heura and Tropicfeel.

I'm also an advocate for side hustles, so during my career I've been growing my +100K Youtube Channel and have been running a one man creative agency where I helped brands and startups tell visual stories - some of my clients include GoPro, CocaCola, WeWork and Tropicfeel.‍‍

🚗 I raced overland 16,000km from London to Mongolia to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.
🏍I'm big into adventure Motorcycle trips: Motorcycled across the Himalayas, the Andes & the Sahara Desert with the purpose to get people out of their comfort zone.

📚I love reading (especially about Stoicism)
🙈 I produced a music video for world renown artists Vance Joy, Benny Blanco and Marshmello.
